AI Safety

Teema and our voice features are there to support your practice: to answer questions, reflect with you and guide you by voice. This is how we keep them honest, private and in their place.

It covers what our AI does and doesn’t do, who powers it, what happens to what you share and what you can switch off. The data details also appear in our Privacy Policy.

The AI providers we use aren’t permitted to train their models on your data.

AI features are optional. Turn permissions off in Settings whenever you like.

Where we use AI

In short

Teema in the app, voice conversations and check-ins, diary reflections if you allow them, guided narration, and the support assistant on our website.
Teema
Your companion in the app. It answers questions about your practice using the content of your Traks and, if you allow it, your progress and diary.
Speaking with Teema
Talk to Teema out loud and hear it answer, live.
Voice check-ins
Say how you’re doing. Teema replies, and the app notes a light reading of your mood and energy.
Diary reflections
Reflections on your diary, available only with a separate permission from you.
Narration and dictation
Guided sessions are voiced from our own scripts, and entries you dictate are turned into text.
Support assistant
Answers questions about DreamTrak on our Support page. It sees account and technical details, never your diary or moods.
Community safety
Automated checks flag abuse, spam and harmful content, and a person sometimes reviews them.

What Teema won’t do

In short

Teema doesn’t diagnose, prescribe or give medical or therapeutic advice, and it points people in crisis toward real help.
  • Teema is instructed not to give medical advice or diagnose conditions.
  • When what someone says suggests a crisis, Teema changes how it responds and points toward real-world help, such as emergency services and crisis lines.
  • Replies that repeat crisis language without offering that help are flagged for review.
  • Teema doesn’t replace a doctor, therapist or counsellor. Trak 1 is made for people going through depression, but it isn’t treatment.
  • Teema can’t see your payment details or support requests, and never shares what you tell it with other members.

When AI gets it wrong

In short

AI can be confidently wrong. Check anything important, and ask a person when it matters.

Replies are generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, including about prices and new features.

For billing, your account or anything urgent, and a person will help. If a reply seems wrong or harmful, tell us through Support so we can look into it.

Who powers our AI

In short

Anthropic for understanding and writing replies, with OpenAI as a backup, ElevenLabs for voices and transcription, and LiveKit for live audio.

    Carries the live audio during voice conversations.

These providers process your data only on our instructions and aren’t permitted to use it to train their models. Every company we work with is listed on our Subprocessors page.

What happens to what you share

In short

Conversations are saved so you can pick up where you left off, and you can delete them. Diary access needs its own yes.
  • Conversations with Teema are saved until you delete them, or your account.
  • In a voice conversation, your audio travels live to ElevenLabs over LiveKit. We keep the details of each session, such as when it started and how long it lasted.
  • Voice check-in transcripts are saved with Teema’s reply and the reading of your mood and energy.
  • Teema uses your diary only if you give that permission separately.
  • The support assistant never sees your diary, moods or reflections.

Your controls

In short

AI features are optional. Switch permissions off in Settings, delete conversations, and practise without voice if you prefer.
  • Go to Settings → Privacy to turn AI permissions on or off, including access to your diary.
  • Delete conversations with Teema whenever you like.
  • Your Traks work without the voice companion. It’s an add-on, not a requirement.
  • To delete your data altogether, see Data and account deletion.

Age

In short

DreamTrak, including its AI features, is for people aged 16 and over.

You need to be 16 or older to use DreamTrak, and our AI features aren’t designed for children. If you believe a child is using DreamTrak, and we’ll delete the account.

As our AI changes

In short

When we add an AI feature or change how one uses your data, we’ll update this page, and tell you when it matters.

The date at the top shows when this version took effect. If a new feature would use your data in a way that needs your consent, we’ll ask first.
